Nippon Pulse
America is a wholly owned subsidiary of
Nippon Pulse Motor Company (NPM) and has been a manufacturer of
stepper motors, motor control ASICs and linear servo motors since 1952.

While the volume manufacturing of their products is done in Japan and China,
the Nippon Pulse facility in Radford, VA is equipped to do rapid customization
and prototyping.
The products fall into four groups:
Linear Shaft Motors
Linear Stepper Motors
Rotary Stepper Motors
Drives and Controls
Linear Shaft Motors - The Linear Shaft
Motor is a simple, high efficiency, high precision motor that requires
no maintenance over it’s lifetime. The motor consist of only two parts, a
magnetic shaft, and a “forcer” of wound coils. Because it has no iron
in the forcer or shaft, giving you the precision and zero cogging expected
in a coreless design, the Linear Shaft Motors provide ultra high precision.

The compact design is available in lengths from 20mm (3/4") to 4.6 meters
(15') and with peak linear force available over 4,000N (1,000 lbf).
Linear Stepper Motors - The
Linear Stepper Motor is a linear actuator based on "tin can" stepper motor
and
is an excellent alternative to air cylinders and mechanical systems.
Available in diameters of 25mm and 35mm with an operating voltage of 5 VDC.

The Linear Stepper Motor can achieve a thrust of up to 40N (9 lbf) at a
speed of 114 mm/min (4.8 ipm) with an effective stroke of 60mm (2 3/8").
Rotary Stepper Motors - Rotary stepper
motors are available in both
Hybrid Rotary Stepper and "Tin
Can Rotary Stepper" styles.

The Hybrid motors are available in frame sizes NEMA 8 to NEMA 23 and the
"Tin Can" motors are available in diameters ranging from 20mm to 55mm with
output torque up to 150 mNm (21 oz-in) and can be fully customized for OEM
applications.
Drives and Controls - As the worlds
largest supplier of ASIC motion control chips in the world, NPM can provide
a number of chip
level and board level
drives and
controls with capabilities ranging from simple MOSFET control to
sophisticated multi-axis solutions. The ASIC chipsets provide a higher
performance, lower cost and more robust solution to motion control than
generic controller ICs. For information about applying these products,
